Farwell Fr. Francis!

I am very disappointed to inform you that Fr. Francis Kim is being transferred. He has been reassigned to Holy Family Church in Sewell effective July 1. He will continue to serve the Korean community at St. Mary’s in Cherry Hill as well.

We have been blessed to have the priestly-presence of Fr. Francis for the past two years at St. Peter’s. Fr. Francis is an outstanding, conscientious, reliable, competent, cheerful and kind priest. He is always ready to serve promptly when called upon, always fulfills his duties faithfully and quietly. You could always be certain that his pastoral work would be accomplished completely and with the heart of a priest.

It was also a blessing to reside with Fr. Francis. He is fraternal, unassuming, always cheerful and flexible. He demanded nothing for himself. We were always impressed by his lesser-known skills, like fishing, cycling, guitar playing, windsurfing and snowboarding. He seemed like a renaissance man who could “do all things well."

We send Fr. Francis off to his next assignment, with our prayers, fraternal concern and best wishes. We have no doubt he will continue to be a shining example of priestly fidelity wherever the Lord may send him.

You will have the opportunity to say good-bye to Fr. Francis next weekend. We will be having refreshments after the 9:00 am and 10:30 am Masses. Unfortunately, I will be in Rome at that time, so I will say farewell to Fr. Francis before then.

Sincerely,

Fr. Tim Byerley Pastor
