Throughout His ministry, Our Lord performed many miracles in which He gave physical healing to many of the sick and outcast in society. The healing which Christ gave to those who sought Him was not only meant to restore physical strength but also dispensed grace that helped strengthen the faith of the one who was healed.

 

     Through the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, the infirm are given the spiritual strength from the Holy Spirit and are united in the prayers of the entire Church. Anointing of the Sick provides the sick to receive the healing of soul and body through the holy anointing as well as through the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Communion, if physically possible.

     Do not wait until the last minute to request this sacrament. The sick have a right to be able to seek and receive the graces of the sacrament at the earliest and best opportunity while they can consciously express their faith and desires and fully participate in the sacrament.

 

     It is important for the Church to pray for the temporal and spiritual well-being of all the sick, especially parishioners and the friends and benefactors of our parish.
